The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The gilt figure group:
In good condition overall, the gilding appears to be 17th or 18th century, and slightly rubbed. There are are two fingers missing from Mary’s proper right hand. Each with a drilled hole to the top of their heads. The back the throne with a break and some elements lacking. With additional drilled hiles incdicating it was part of a different installation originally. Some casting flaws and scattered now stable cracks, particularly to the base.
The case:
Appears to be Italian and 18th century. With multiple rubbed, chipped and flaked losses to the gilding. The glass is not orginal. The back is loose and would benefit fro mresecuring. With an old, paper auction label from Royal Athena Gallery.
