The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has a modern glue relining and is firmly stretched with a the new lining canvas just visible at the lateral edges (1/4 in. wide) at the frame. The paint surface is clean and stable beneath a clear varnish with some very light scuffing at the frame edge lower left.
Inspection under UV is impeded a little by the varnish but reveals what appear to be two old repaired and retouched tears, one at the left edge and one at right and a repaired hole in the ear and cheek of the right most head. There are further minor retouches scattered here and there, mostly attending to the craquelure none of these distract from the image overall.
The painting is ready to hang and requires no further work.
