Details
Hand-painted wooden model in three segments, joined on metal rod.

Large, vintage model of the Gemini capsule. The Gemini spacecraft was designed to carry two astronauts into Earth orbit to test long-duration flight, rendezvous and docking, and other techniques needed for manned journeys to the Moon. As such, the Gemini craft had to be more maneuverable than the Mercury one and with extra components. The segments in this model are the Adapter Mating, Equipment, and Retrograde sections at the bottom; the crew cabin; topped by the Reaction Control System and Rendezvous/Recovery sections.
