Lot Essay

The Paddington area of London that you see today is probably very different from the way it looked when author, Michael Bond, first wrote about the intrepid bear from Darkest Peru. The area that Paddington was named after has become very modern in recent years. The buildings that have appeared around the Paddington Basin - that’s the bit next to the canal, not somewhere that bears use to wash their faces - shows just how much London is always reinventing itself.
Taylor Wimpey created Bearing Up. This company builds new homes in London for families just like the Browns, who made Paddington one of their own. Paddington's bright, bold new look adds a vibrancy of colour to London's ever-changing landscape.
"Taylor Wimpey is thrilled to be part of The Paddington Trail and to support the great work that the NSPCC does to help young children. We were inspired by Paddington's blue duffle coat when coming up with ideas for this design. He's rarely seen without it and he obviously feels most at home when he's wearing it."
