Lot Essay

In the new Paddington movie, everyone's favourite exploring bear arrives into London's Paddington station in a sack full of mail, having travelled from Darkest Peru as a stowaway in a ship's lifeboat. The perfect person to design this unique statue is the actor, Ben Whishaw, who lends Paddington his voice for the movie.
Ben's creation, Special Delivery, is a very rare bear; a true one of a kind. Extraordinary actors, much like extraordinary bears, aren't found on every street corner of London. This is why the West End is the best location to reveal such a unique bear-and-actor combination, especially as Ben himself has previously performed at the Noël Coward Theatre not too far from this very location.
