Lot Essay

The designer of Borough Market's colourful Paddington is Peru, who wanted to celebrate the history, nature, art and food of Paddington's birthplace. Doesn't he look delicious? Peru's cuisine is one of the finest and most admired in the world, full of the best fresh ingredients and produce, spices, herbs and citrus fruits.
In Borough Market, Paddington finds a home away from home when he misses that classic Peruvian taste. The market is boasts around 70 stalls and stands, selling a range of fresh fish, meat, cheeses, artisan breads, cakes and patisseries. The market even plays a supporting role in the Paddington movie. Keep an eye out for it when you see it in cinemas this Christmas!
London is also home to several acclaimed Peruvian restaurants, including Ceviche in Soho and the newly-opened Señor Ceviche in Kingly Court.
