Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The sheet is free floating in its frame. Pinholes are visible to the upper edge and cloth tape is adhered to the lower edge of the sheet, presumably a vestige of the artist's working method. Staining and discoloration is visible to the sheet in places, most prominently to the edges. A few small, soft handling marks are visible in places. A small tear is visible to the upper left corner and a small tear with associated loss is visible to the upper right corner. A few hairline cracks are visible in scattered black passages, including an area of possible lifting at the upper right quadrant. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
