Working on paper has allowed artists to record fleeting thought, explore the idiosyncrasies of technique, or to create fully realised, worked surfaces. Whether it be drawing or painting, print-making or photography, the paper sheet has been the support of choice for artists throughout the late twentieth century. on paper | online aims to highlight the role of this versatile and ubiquitous medium in the history Post-War and Contemporary Art, showcasing, among others, abstraction through Sam Francis’s Untitled, Pop Art through Tom Wesselmann’s nudes alongside the contemporary experiments of Wade Guyton and Nicole Eisenman.
Works will be on view at our King Street, London galleries 9-19 September.
