A BLACK AND GREYISH-GREEN JADE GU-FORM VASE AND A CONG-FORM BEAD
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The vase is carved with raised notched flanges at the corners and down the center of each side, dividing the taotie masks on the facets of the central section, the blades on the slightly spreading pedestal foot, and pairs of stylized chilong below blades on the flaring neck. The bead is carved on the flattened sides with a stylized face at each of the four corners.
