- expected age cracks, a few of which have been repaired, and others have been consolidated
- nicks to the lacquer, edges, sides and base
- minor area of losses to the edges of cover
- areas of repainting on all corners
- the overhanging metal lock is bent, the lock plate on top has been slightly reduced on one end
