FOUR BLUE AND WHITE PORCLAINS
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The dish is finely painted in the center with a writhing dragon and further painted with two dragons on the interior sides. The first jar is decorated on the sides with stylized lotus blossoms within line borders. The second jar is painted on the ribbed body with phoenix medallions, set between the Buddhist Emblems alternating with scrolling clouds encircling the neck and the foot. The cup is painted with panels of ladies on terraced gardens, alternating with panels of the flowers representing the four seasons, below a decorative border.
4 1/8, 5 3/8, and 3 in. (10.4, 13.7, and 7.6 cm.) high and 6 1/8 (15.5 cm.) diam., wood covers
