A RECTANGULAR MOTHER-OF-PEARL-INLAID LACQUER TRAY
17TH CENTURY
The center of the tray is finely decorated with a scholar seated in a pavilion and a lady crosses a bridge underneath a willow tree, amidst a mountainous and watery landscape. The shallow flared sides are decorated with cartouches of foliate scrollwork on a diaper ground.
11 5/8 x 8 (29.5 x 20.3 cm.)
