A RED GLASS BARREL-FORM CUP
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The sides are carved through the transparent ruby-red glass with two stylized taotie masks interrupted by writhing chilong between a row of decorative bosses above and a lappet border encircling the foot.

A similar transparent red glass cup from the collection of Alan E. Feen is illustrated in A Chorus of Colors: Chinese Glass from Three American Collections, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, 1995, pp. 108-9, no. 83, where it dated to the Qianlong period.
