A SMALL CARVED RED LACQUER CIRCULAR BOX AND A COVER
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
The top carved with a scene of three boys playing on a terraced courtyard amidst rocks and plantain trees. The box carved with meandering lotus stems against a diaper ground, with an inscribed four-character Xuande mark on the base.
2 ¾ in. (7.1 cm.) diam.
