A SOAPSTONE EMBELLISHED HONGMU TABLE SCREEN
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The rectangular panel is inlaid in soapstone with a scholar seated in his terraced studio surrounded by precious objects and scholar's objects. The studio is surrounded by a rocky landscape with a tall pine tree beside a wooden bridge. The panel is inscribed with a two character inscription followed by a square seal and set into the pierced hongmu trestle stand.
