The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after its initial manufacture.
-all with expected minor nicks to edges, age cracks, minor lifting of lacquer and small repairs to lacquer, scattered areas have been relacquered, expected wear
Circular Box and Cover:
-loss to lacquer and chips to the interior of box and cover, and inner rims
-a large crack with associated lifting and branching cracks to interior of box and cover
-old glue on base of box
Double-lozenge box and cover:
-interior of box and cover has been relacquered with extensive crazing
-small section of loss to the edge of the base
-scattered spots of old glue a few with associated loss to lacquer
Seal Box Cover:
-scattered chips and loss to edges
-the top of the box may have had a design or inset plaque, which is now missing
-scattered minor stains
