THREE CARVED RED LACQUER BOXES
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The first is a circular box and cover carved with dense prunus meander. The second box and cover is of double lozenge form carved on top with two scholars and their attendants in a mountainous landscape beneath pine trees reserved on a fine diaper ground. The sides are carved with scenes of antiques. The third is an imperial seal box cover carved on each side with a four-clawed writhing dragon amidst scrolling clouds.
3 7/8, 9 1/8, 4 1/8 in. (9.8, 23.3, and 10.5 cm.) wide
