THREE CARVED SOAPSTONE FIGURES
The first luohan is seated on a rocky plinth with his right hand held in abhaya mudra and the left hand holding a jewel, the face serenely carved with the hair and beard picked out in blank ink. The second is seated on a circular rocky plinth, holding a scroll in his right hand and resting his left hand on his lowered knee. The third is seated with his head slightly lowered and wears a voluminous cloak clasped at the chest, the hands hidden within the long, heavy sleeves.
3 1/8, 3 1/8, and 2 ½ in. (8, 8, and 6.4 cm.) high
