The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Left according to the illustration:
- a section of restoration to the mouth rim and a small touch up to the mouth rim
- a shallow old chip to the foot rim (possibly original)
Middle:
- an area of restoration to the flared mouth extending half-way down the neck and a shallow chip to the foot
Right:
- the jar possibly had a cover
- there are a few chips to the inner mouth and chips to the foot rim
- a long body crack runs through the foot and extends into the base
