A TIXI LACQUER QUATREFOIL DISH AND TWO TIXI LACQUER CUPS
MING-QING DYNASTY (1368-1911)
The quatrefoil dish is deeply carved with a repeating ruyi motif and foliate scrollwork, exposing the layered red and black layers of the lacquer. The cups are carved on the exterior with a band of four ruyi heads, with a three-petal whorl design on the base.
Dish: 14 1/8 in. (35.9 cm.) wide
Cups: 2 5/8 (6.8 cm.) diam. (2)
