The rounded rectangular top inset with floral and figural marquetry centred by two seated Classical maidens emblematic of Science and Mathematics beside an astroglobe, the corners inset with rosettes and scrolling acanthus, above a frieze applied with scrolling floral mounts above a drawer and centred to each side with marquetry panels depicting putti pursuing the Arts and Sciences, on tapering fluted legs and leaf-cast feet
