As stated in the catalogue, the console table was reconstructed in its present form probably in the late 19th century.
The table top and base probably late 19th century.
The monopodiae and pilasters are North Italian, early 19th century.

The later marble top with natural inclusions and minor 'nibbled' chips to the edges.
The cornice inverted to accomodate the new marble and reduce in depth silghtly.
The gilding refreshed in areas. With some small areas of flaked loss and chips, revealing geso and bole in areas.
There is a small loss to the gesso stiff-leaf moulding to the frieze.
The base with surface marks, nicks, and scartches, as to be expected. The back edge with a faint shrinkage crack.
The faux-marbling to the base later decoration.
