These models of Buddhist lions present extremely well overall. There are surface marks, scratches, and small chips throughout, particularly the rims where the head and body meet, as to be expected with age and handling. There are traces of a white residue and some dirt, consistent with having been placed outdoors. The ceramic with a few hairline cracks in the firing, but which do not effect the structural integrity of the works. The ear to one lion head with a restored break. The cub with some chipped losses to the tops of his ears. One base with a restored break across one top corner (approx 16 in. long) and with some small chipped losses to corners and edges. The other with various restored breaks to the top. Structurally secure and ready to place.
