Lot Essay
Pattie Boyd: George and I went to look at a house called Kinfauns in Esher in Surrey, which would eventually become our first home together. It was so suburban, ghastly, hideous. I was horrified. That's when George took these photos of me with my camera. Brian Epstein wanted to get all of the Beatles out of London as it was becoming very difficult to either leave or come into the London flat because there were so many girls outside.

Gelatin silver prints on gloss single-weight paper. General handling consistent with age and use. Minor bumps to corners, a few small dog-ears with fine emulsion cracks, scattered handling shells with some hairline emulsion cracks, overall light surface abrasion. The landscape shot of Pattie seated with a spot of paper residue at lower edge where some paper stuck to the emulsion before it was dry, the surrounding area with roughness to emulsion. The shot of Pattie in a tree with creasing and moisture damage to upper right corner including surface loss and small holes. The head and shoulders shot of Pattie with area of discoloured and rough emulsion to lower edge, and several creases to image with negligible emulsion cracks. The portrait shot of Pattie seated with some fingersoiling. Slight curling to prints.
