Lot Essay
British photographer David Bailey shot both Pattie Boyd and George Harrison for his 1969 photo book Goodbye Baby & Amen, A Saraband For The Sixties, which attempted to pin down the cast of characters that had shaped and defined the decade, with accompanying text by journalist Peter Evans.
In her 2007 autobiography Wonderful Today, Pattie Boyd remarked on her experiences working with Bailey over the years: Bailey was a sexy photographer, and it was easy to appear sexy with him because we reacted to what was coming from him. There might be other people in the studio but modeling is a one-on-one relationship, between you and the photographer, and you need to feel that he and the camera are one.
