The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Russet ‘oil spot’ bowl:
- The bowl is in overall good condition, except for a small shallow chip to the foot
- There are two frits to the mouth rim, a fine and short firing crack to the interior, and a few glaze gaps, which are all original to manufacture
- There is crackling and surface scratches to the interior
Russet splashed bowl:
- There are two firing flaws to the lipped rim, which are original to manufacture
- There are three shallow chips to the foot rim
- There are some expected light surface scratches
