The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Screen:
- The leaves and grass are carved bone
- There are a few age cracks to the lacquered surface and loss to lacquer on the reverse
- There are later added metal plates on back to hold the panel in
- Aprons with some loss along lower edge
- There is a chip to the jichimu slope by the soapstone rockwork
- There is regluing with filler between the mitered ends of frame sections as can be expected from age and use
