Lot Essay

The bowl is enamelled on the interior with four confronting warriors on horseback, each bearing an auspicious object, the centre with a medallion encircling a sage playing the flute. The exterior is vigorously decorated with a garden setting. The base is inscribed with a Wanli six-character mark in iron red within a double circle which encircled by four characters reading liang xuan ban yong.
