The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Black soapstone seal:
- There are some nicks to edges and extremities, as well as some surface scratches, as can be expected
Horn seal:
- There are some chips to edges of seal face, nicks to right front leg, and right hound
- There is an area of infill to the back of the head of the finial
- There are cracks consistent with age and characteristic of the material
