Lot Essay

The larger, scrawling signature in red wax pencil on the verso of this print signifies that it was considered by the artist at the time to be one of his 'master' prints.

“I found Mick to be incredibly collaborative—very professional. He was obviously the one who called the shots. The rest of the band kind of goofed off. I found he had a lot of presence and didn’t need to perform. I just love this moment, and we were just sitting and talking. It’s just a Mick image.” – Norman Seeff, from an interview with Lenora Jane Estes, Vanity Fair, 9.12.13
