Specialist Notes:

For Lottie Davies, memories play an important role in how we define ourselves. As the basis for the series Memories and Nightmares, she asked close friends to describe to her their earliest memories. One friend alternatively suggested a nightmare about having quadruplets, later portrayed by Davies in this work which was awarded the National Portrait Gallery Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize in 2008.
