Specialist Notes:Desiree Dolron’s portraits in the Flemish style arrest the viewer with their ethereal beauty and unnatural precision. This work, from her most celebrated series, seduces the viewer with its air of mystery, achieved in large part by the light isolating the model's face, obscuring most of the background and dress. Every aspect of the images in the series are digitally manipulated, sometimes images of several faces are combined to produce the desired result. The strength of her work lies in that this manipulation is both obvious and indiscernible.
