拍品专文

Diane Arbus was commissioned by Donald Erickson (1932-1988) of Esquire magazine to photograph Brenda Frazier Kelly Chatfield-Taylor in January of 1966. Frazier had been a popular figure since her teen years and was often mentioned in gossip columns and even song lyrics. This print of the former1938 debutante who once graced the cover of Life magazine was gifted to Erickson by Arbus in 1966. This portrait ran in Esquire uncropped in square form and still exhibits pinholes at each corner where the work was pinned up during the publishing of the magazine.
