Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
No chips, cracks or restorations detected. An area of no glaze to the extreme edge in places, consistent with the artist's technique, and some associated minor fritting. Some pitting at four o'clock and eight o'clock. An area of staining to the lower edge, possibly as a result of previously removed adhesive residue. Some light surface dirt and minor surface scratching to the unglazed area. The reverse with three footmarks, consistent with the kiln apparatus and firing technique, one with a small associated loss of glaze. Subject to the foregoing it is our opinion that the present work appears to be in generally very good condition.
