Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
No cracks detected. There is evidence of sympathetic restoration to an old break through the middle of the plate. The rim with some small chips, some of which have been cosmetically retouched. Some crazing in the glaze, from the time of firing. One or two fine surface scratches. The underside with some wear to the footrim, and some associated small chips and nicks. One further chip, which appears to be due to a footmark, from the time of firing. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
