I stand for life against death; I stand for peace against war' (Picasso, quoted in J. Richardson, Picasso Mosqueteros, New York, 2009, p. 246)

On the occasion of the 13th Congress of the French Communist Party, Pablo Picasso executed thirteen plates employing as motif the Dove of Peace. Each member of the Congress, including the father of the present owners, received as a gift one of these unique plates.

Provenance:
A gift from the artist and thence by descent to the present owner.
