The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

No chips or cracks detected. Some consolidation and retouching to historic losses in the black engobe, most notably in the left half and in the centre right of the rim. Some fine scratches in the black areas around the rim, and a few small losses to the engobe in places. A few short, unobtrusive, hairline lines of crazing to the glaze. The underneath with some very light wear to the footrim, very fine lines of crazing and three footmarks from the time of firing. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the present work appears to be in generally good condition.
