The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is attached to a wooden mount along the reverse edges, probably with an adhesive; the extreme edges, the stamps and numbering on the reverse visible. No cracks or restorations detected. A small chip at the extreme left upper edge. Two further tiny chips in her hair; one at the lower left edge and one at the lower right edge. A few areas of mild rubbing to the black engobe, predominantly to the lower edge. Some light surface dirt and soft surface scuffs in places. The reverse with two possible chips at the left and lower edges. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the present work appears to be in generally good condition.
