The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

No cracks or restorations detected. A few small deposits of medium to the handle and to the inside of the neck of the jug, possibly from the time of execution. A tiny chip to the glaze on the right side. Minor inconsistencies to the grey engobe around the right eye, nose and beneath the mouth as a result of water on the medium. Four soft scratches above the right eyebrow and one or two minor scratches to the engobe elsewhere. Light surface dirt throughout most notable to the left ear and below the left eyelid. The underside with very minor fritting to the footrim. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the present work appears to be in generally very good condition.
