The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

A. R. 416: No cracks or restorations detected. Three tiny chips to the glaze on the raised areas at the front of the horse's body, center left, visible upon close inspection. Some very minor scratches to the rim in places. A very small chip to the footrim.
A. R. 417: No chips, cracks or restorations detected. Some scratches to the rim, predominantly at the lower and left center. A small imperfection to the rim of the plate, lower center.
A. R. 418: No cracks or restorations detected. Two small chips to the footrim, not visible from the front.
A. R. 419: No chips, cracks or restorations detected. Some very light surface scratches to the rim.
A. R. 420: No chips, cracks or restorations detected. A tiny nick and a few light scratches to the rim at the left center and one tiny nick to the footrim.
A. R. 421: No cracks or restorations detected. A tiny chip to the glaze on the blue spotted element, upper right. A few very fine scratch marks to the rim at the let center, barely visible from the front.
A. R. 422: No cracks or restorations detected. A small loss to the black glaze on the head of the central figure. A few further tiny losses to the glaze on some of the raised areas. A few very small chips to the footrim, not visible from the front.
A. R. 423: No cracks or restorations detected. A few tiny losses to the glaze on the arm of the rightmost figure. Some very minor scratches to the rim in places. Some tiny chips in a small line to the footrim.
General minor surface dirt, predominantly to the reverse of each plate. Minor imperfections in places within the background patina, presumed from the time of execution.
The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of the sale.
