The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Large platter: No cracks or restorations detected. Two very small chips under the rim at the reverse right. Not visible from above. Some mild crazing in the glaze consistent with age.
A: No chips, cracks or restorations detected. Some fritting to the reverse rim.
B: No chips, cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with a tiny chip at the upper edge, not visible from above.
C: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with a minute chip, lower left, not visible from above.
D: No chips, cracks or restorations detected.
E: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with two minute chips at the left edge, not visible from above.
F: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with a minute chip, lower right, not visible from above.
G: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with a minute chip, upper left, not visible from above.
H: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with some minute chips in the glaze, not visible from above.
I: No chips, cracks or restorations detected.
J: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with some minute chips in the glaze, not visible from above.
K: No chips, cracks or restorations detected.
L: No cracks or restorations detected. The reverse rim with a minute chip, upper right, not visible from above.
Each plate with some mild surface scratches in places and with feet marks to the reverse from the time of firing. Each plate with a later inventory number written in black ink over clear glaze which is apparently easily removed.
Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
