拍品的状况可能存在极大差异，而由于其性质使然，拍品难以处于完美无瑕的状态。拍品均以拍卖时的状况出售。

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to the extreme edges and minor handling marks to the upper horizontal and lower right vertical edges. There are a few scattered pinpoint accretions in places to the coloured passages. There are two faint abrasions to the lower right quadrant, the longest measuring approximately 6in. in length. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
