The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are a few faint tension cracks to the extreme edges and minute drying cracks to the impasto passages to the lower left quadrant, only visible under strong raking light. There is minute rubbing to the extreme corners. There is a pinpoint accretion to the centre upper horizontal edge. There is a minute loss to the extreme lower horizontal edge. When examined under ultraviolet light, there are some areas that fluoresce unevenly, but not in a manner consistent with inpainting. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
