The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The teapot: A thin stress crack to the glaze around the handle; two thin firing cracks to the rim with associated short hairlines; small frits and chips to the tip of the spout and rim. There is a hairline crack to the cover measuring approximately 2.5 cm. There is some minor rubbing to the enamels and gilt decoration.
The tea jar: There is a small shallow chip to the foot rim. There are frits and chips to the mouth rim of the cover, the largest measuring approx 1.7 cm. wide. There is a shallow chip to the finial on the cover. There is some minor rubbing to the enamels and gilt decoration.
