AN IRON RED AND GILT TRIPOD VESSEL
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The vessel is supported with monster-head terminals and is decorated to the interior with leafy peony blooms growing from behind a rock. The cavetto is further embellished with a leafy scroll and the flattened rim is painted with a scrolling foliate design and flower heads in reserve on an iron red ground.
