A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE HEXAGONAL VASE AND COVER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The vase is decorated to each side with shaped panels in enamels and gilt with a couple and two children at leisure in a garden setting by a pavilion, all in reserve against a dense ground of stylised flower heads. The sides of the neck and base are decorated with landscape panels in iron red within gilt foliate scrolls. Each cover is similarly decorated and surmounted by a Buddhist lion finial.
