A PAIR OF FLAMBÉ-GLAZED WATER BUFFALOES
19TH CENTURY
Each buffalo is modelled in a recumbent position with its hooves tucked underneath its body, its head turned over its back, and a sprig a lingzhi fungus in its mouth. They are covered all over in a rich, red glaze with purple and brown splashes thinning at the extremities to a pale mushroom tone.
