The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The teapot has a star crack to one side of the body through the base and to the other side (overall approx. 23 cm long) terminating in another star crack. These are not visible to the naked eye. There is an associated area of over painting and over spraying along the crack, the largest area approx. 8 cm x 10 cm to one side.
Light rubbing to the enamels and to the gilt decoration.
Light scratches and surface wear in keeping with its age.
Tiny nick to the spout, foot ring, mouth rim and to the handle. The largest measuring 0.6 cm diam.
Small glaze flake to the underside rim of the cover measuring max. approx. 0.6 cm diam. Most of the rim of the cover has been lightly restored.
