TWO BLUE AND WHITE 'KRAAK PORSELEIN' DISHES
Wanli Period (1573-1619)
One dish is decorated to the interior with a qilin below an eagle in flight, surrounded by panels of auspicious emblems around the well. The other dish is painted to the interior with a deer and its young beside a tall tree, also below panels of auspicious emblems to the well. The exterior of both dishes are decorated with panels containing stylised leaves.
The larger 14 in. (35.2 cm.) diam.
