The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The smaller crucifix: The top and bottom terminals have been restuck and relacquered; small repaired chips and damages to the extremities (the largest approx. 2.3 cm. wide); minor losses to the mother of pearl inlay; a circular later drilled aperture to the reverse.
The larger crucifix: with lacquered repair to the central intersection; a few areas of replacement inlay; some small minor losses to the mother of pearl inlay; the top section of the terminal with a drilled hole through the wood, now infilled.
Both: surface wear consistent with age.
